I'll gladly accept James Bond's theme, PA. For BlueMoon: Moon River For HSC: Stutter I'll get to more later I'm sure, but it's just sapping too much of my time thinking of the possibilities when I have a moving van outside, and an improv show to be in tonight. IP: Logged |

Oh good! I'm glad. I heard it on the radio, and I thought its theme was one of your themes as far as I know...plus it rocks, so it's alright for an Aries. (Prior to that I was listening to various Zepp pieces searching for something. I love D'yer Mak'er, but I'm not sure if you do. I also thought of Dave Matthews Where Are You Going for you, but the explanation as to why I thought it would be good was too long, and I thought I might be projecting something on to you that I don't know if you would agree with even though it's a good thing.) Ok I'm going to do this one & be serious about it for once.AG I don't know why...I never do really but when I thought about a song for you the only one that came to mind was Style Council's Shout to the Top. That selection made even less sense when I looked up the lyrics.... But it's yours now anyways because it won't leave my head. lol. IP: Logged |

I love "I'm Too Sexy" - I have used that song in a cool activity where students design a costume (based on a description) made from newspaper. Then they walk the catwalk to Fred's song, posing their newspaper attire! IP: Logged |

koiOh, I love the Style Council's, You're The Best Thing. It's on my iPod. The line, "I could be a lot, but I know I'm Not", ah, hits me. Really lovely song. IP: Logged |

AGI love Led Zep. Love Jimmy Page. I'm sure I read somewhere a while back that you're not a fan of electric guitar. I'm not a fan of screaming guitars, but I love beautiful lyricism. Clapton is just in a league of his own, I think, but Pagey has something more raw. David Gilmour plays some absolutely beautiful lines too. With Led Zep - love In The Light, but the absolute raw sex of Moby Dick...... awesome. And the sexuality of and in their lyrics - LOL! IP: Logged |

No, I'm actually ok with electric guitar. For the most part I'm wholeheartedly against the heavy metal guitar solo. It's unnecessary, and a good portion of the time not musical (as in overly improvised).Jimmy Page is an awesome guitarist, and a Capricorn. I didn't grow up listening to rock like that. My first instrument was keyboard, and the first band I called my favorite was Depeche Mode, so I got into rock kind of late. Listening to Led Zeppelin, though, I can totally hear parallels between Jimmy's playing and my own. I instinctively made up Kashmir-ish chord progressions myself before knowing who they'd sound like. I'm pretty confident that if my goal in life was to become a guitar god I could do it after seeing what Page does. I just never took it to his level (though I could fairly easily just by applying myself). He's like me, though. He's not heavy on the improvisation. I can hear in his work that he likes his pieces meticulously worked out and polished. There are no notes out of place. Clapton and John Mayer are both awesome, and I don't mind comparing them. I also don't lump them with Page, though. They should be more fiery being masculine signs and all, but Page does channel more power. IP: Logged |

Your comments made me think of this:Pagey's great, and rumour has it that he was either on or just coming off heroin at this time, but they are rumours. Towards the end he's joined by Clapton and Beck. And you can hear Clapton's beauty above them. He's just got something else. Page does channel something different. I've never really listened to John Mayer except for the couple of hits he's had. I find him conceited and have never been able to get past that. I always get the sense that he thinks he's some kind of genius - whether he is or thinks that though, but that's my impression of him. IP: Logged |

Interesting what you said about the heavy metal guitar solo. There's a clip on YouTube with Kirk Hammett and Metallica discussing the relevance of the guitar solo in music these days. Kirk's stance is fairly obvious. You know he's just going to have to prove his worth there after that conversation and his reasonings for including any solos.IP: Logged |

Mayer does come off as conceited. If you ever watch one of his concert videos even going back to the beginning of his career, though, you'll find that he is honestly an amazing talent.IP: Logged |

Pagey does have that precision, but when you watch him play - there's that total abandon that others don't give. He's totally there. He's not just putting his head or fingers into action, it's his whole self. Whereas, despite the beauty of his playing - and it really is absolutely beautiful - I can't say the same thing about Clapton. To me, Clapton plays like a lover, where Page plays because he has to - it's who he is, not just a part of him.IP: Logged |

Am listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan at the mo. He's awesome!!!! That Mr Potato Head!! Nothing, but trouble!!! We have him at work, AS WELL AS Mrs Potato Head. It really is a b@stard when he loses pieces, like mouths and noses!!! It's just not the same building Mr and Mrs Pot head without the pieces. But, now I'm awfully suspicious! I think I know where I'll find those missing mouths and noses!!! IP: Logged |

Looks like we'll be needing those CSI dolls and their toy foresinc kits.Actually, if we can relate somehow to US naval intelligence, then we could make it the NCIS dolls. I'm sure that the Gibbs doll can more than make up for what Ken lacks. Now there's a guy who knows how to please his Barbie. IP: Logged |
