quote: Dulce, to be fair doctors know nothing about nutrition. Are you aware that doctors, in their 7 years of study to become doctors spend maximum 3 days on the subject of nutrition and diet? lol a joke right?Doctors are not qualified to speak of such things, trust me!
I'm sorry but I don't believe that, especially when everything they say is pretty much in agreement with everything I've learned. A HUGE part of their jobs is to make sure you're healthy so why wouldn't they spend enough time learning this stuff? I'm getting ready to go into healthcare too so I'm not talking dribbel here. And again, I have to go on iron pills because red meat is such a rare occurence in my diet. I don't care for red meat but I'm not gonna knock another person's need for it is a sufficient and cheap source of iron; not everyone has the resources to eat expensive organic stuff. Its all down to eating things in moderation. The reason we have a gynormous amount of health problems is because we don't eat things in balance. If one has way too much red meat and very little vegetables or starch then OF COURSE they're gonna have all sorts of problems. IP: Logged |

This is what I don't like; why should I buy into *your opinion* especially when I've found the contrary to be true? We have a HUGE problem with with nutrition related diseases here and much as there are problems in the whole medical industry, people in healthcare can't afford to NOT be immersed in this stuff. Bottom line is less red meat and leafy green vegetables= lack of iron, end of story. Its pretty common knowledge...heck, I'm LIVING proof of that. IP: Logged |

Meat is meat, whether it has chemicals in it, or not. It was still an animal. Most people on this planest are here because their ancestors ate meat. Have you heard about Genotypes? There are 6 of them. Some are meat-pronounced, while others are grain-pronounced. So people have different dietary requirements based on their genetic ancestry. And, what is it about the Irish living so long??? Also, as sunshine lion states, a blessing cleanses food. IP: Logged |

If that's your research than why is mine and everyone else's findings to the contrary? Everyone else agrees that relying on red meat ALONE is bad for you, but the general consensus is that it still has a very significant source of iron, almost equal to that of leafy greens. Google it, and you'll see. The other 'sources of iron' you named are pretty much paltry compared to that. IP: Logged |

If you're looking for "everyone else" try starting with the people who do actually study meat nutrition. They will be the first to tell you that there is nutrition in beef.IP: Logged |

*banging head against desk again* For the last time, no one denies that there are bad things about eating red meat....IF you rely on it as your sole source of heme-iron. But it has a significant source of iron that can't be discounted, hence eating it in moderation.
quote: Who is everyone else? The general public? Come on Dulce, i KNOW you are more intelligent than that! It is not just about ignorance and naivety, it's about companies and money too.Do you even know what goes into the meat you eat? Are you even aware that man's diet in the olden days consisted of 65% vegetation 30% seeds and berries 5% meat
So there's no room for cultural variations in cuisine now? There has been a such thing as tribes that were traditionally pastoral (ie. eat alot of meat) in addition to the ethnic groups who were mainly agricultural or fishermen. Atleast where I'm from that was the case for over a milennia. OF COURSE, there is alot of processed crap in food today, no one disagrees with that. But I ask of you, what does that have to do with what is a natural source and what isn't?
*Btw, I wasn't aware that cancer cells contributed to health. I know there's a such thing as benign ones...as long as they aren't allowed to proliferate. IP: Logged |

I can't confirm that you have done your research, can I Lara? No more than you could for me.Want to read something from a doctor obviously very concerned about meat studies? http://www.proteinpower.com/drmike/fast-food/meat-and-mortality/#more-2770 With regard to our ancestors, how long did they live? How long do modern meat eaters live? Is there a difference? IP: Logged |

Do you have any proof to the contrary of what everyone immersed in nutrition has been saying? Why should I start listening to you over the experts in this subject.Because according to your argument, NOTHING is a source of anything....because everything's been processed with similar things. I can't think of anything that's purely organic anymore, not even a single vegetable. IP: Logged |

I've done plenty of research on this subject myself and AG is a pretty logical guy himself, but because we agree with the facts and not your 'research' somehow we're ignorant. Okay, thanks! IP: Logged |

Research is good. There is a lot of info out there, and not all studies are unbiased. This book is worth researching: http://www.amazon.com/Mucusless-Healing-System-Arnold-Ehret/dp/0879040041/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top IP: Logged |
