When you go to reply, look over to the left and click on smilies legend. Be sure to use a capital when it says etc. Myself, I have to use a cheat sheet to be able to remember them all But, once you start it's going to be hard to stop Good luck!

Wow, this is a great thread So many card games mentioned! I used to play Spades a lot (the jail version, thanks to my friends )...it's been a few years now, think I forgot. I used to play Rummy and Go Fish...and Old Maid as a kid. I was always the old maid, go figure The Italians in my family love to play Canasta, we have tournaments a few hours long when the family gets together...it's a lot of fun. Our family Canasta version is more a combination of Canasta/Cutthroat/Samba...that's what I was told. I used to like to play double dutch when I was younger, and Chinese jumprope. Nowadays, I play videogames for entertainment. I'm currently almost finished with Final Fantasy X (I love Lulu's dress...it will be mine!) I'll have to check out some of the titles you mentioned Nep and Spiritua, they look really good. IP: Logged |

Whoa, Goob, you're playing FFX? Isn't it awesome? I love the battles, Yuna's summons are amazing!!!! I only played for a few hours at my cousin's house, although I am not as passionate about it as he is(he cried the day he got it, ha! ) The voices are great, and I also think Lulu's dress is neat. Imagine that--a dress of made outta belts. Neat!

You know it! Wow, I think I'm in league with your cousin, I almost cried too. The opening to the game, the first few minutes sooooo blew FF IX out of the water, visually. I got the game for my brother Drew for Christmas, we've been splitting our time on it. I'm sad I'm almost done with it, I'm having too much fun! Yuna's summons are great, and I hope you had a rumbling controller...absolutely amazing cinemas I just had Lulu learn Flare, and I "bought" an extra Aeon for Yuna. I'm going to make Lulu's dress for Halloween. Here's a screen shot, if anyone cares to see what we're talking about. Lulu's got black hair and a dark black/grey dress: http://www.geocities.com/auronandlulu/index3.htm IP: Logged |

Final Fantasy VIII is still my favourite, but I love IX and X too. Right now, I'm stuck in the third sphere puzzle (right before gaining the third Aeon) and I've got no idea what to do. Would you care to help? (You don't have to tell me exactly what to do, I'd just appreciate a few hints please.) IP: Logged |

Surely, I'll be happy to help if I can...Right before gaining the third Aeon...okay, so you have Valefor and Ifrit I guess? That place had me stuck for a while too, don't feel bad. I almost chucked my controller at the t.v. a few times (I'm an Aries, it's not my fault ) The next puzzle is even worse than the one you're doing right now, if I remember correctly...so you've still got lots of aggravation in store Okay, if you're in the Djose Temple (I think, if you're not and it's the next temple, let me know and I'll see what I can find) here's what to do (I found it online, there's no way I couldn't remember most of it!) Take the two spheres in this room and insert them into the slots by the door. Go through. Now, take 1 of the spheres by the door and insert it into the farthest right slot in the room. Take the other sphere and insert it into the other slot on the far right of the room. This causes the pillar above to become charged. Take the pedestal with the sphere in it, and push it under the charged pillar. This charges the sphere on the pedestal. Take the charged Sphere and insert it into the slot by the door in this room. Go to the far left of the room with the pedestal and step on the floor glyph. Grab the two spheres that are charging the pillar on the ceiling, and put them into the pedestal. Now push the Pedestal with the spheres into the Pit of lighting in the room to the north. This disables the electricity. Go across the lightning pit and push the pedestal inwards. Jump back to the main room. Step on the floor glyph on the far left again to recover the pedestal. Take both spheres from the pedestal, and put the into the two slots all the way back into the entrance room. Go back to the pedestal room and take the charged sphere. Put it into the slot to the left of the door leading to the lightning pit. Go to the pedestal and ride the new platform up. On this level, go to all 5 pedestals in the rooms, and push them into the wall as far as they go. This unlocks a staircase. Ride to the lower level first though. Go to the far left in the room and touch the glyph on the wall. This reveals a destruction sphere. Go back to the higher level and place the destruction sphere into the pedestal. Receive your prize, then climb the stairs. Whew! Lots of fun, isn't it
I played FFVIII a little, but didn't get to finish it, hopefully I'll get around to it someday when I have time, along with the other FFs. The only one I've played straight through was FFIX. Hope the info helps! IP: Logged |

I have to say that I enjoy FFX more than I enjoyed FF8, which I just couldn't get into for some reason. I think I didn't enjoy the characters as much, perhaps. Also, I never understood what happened to Squall when that Sorceress chick stabbed him with the giant ice thing. I didn't get what happened! He just popped up on the next disk like nothing occured. Speaking of sorceresses, I'd better clear something up right away. Some people might not want to play Final Fantasy VIII because it's main villain is portrayed as a sorceress......but that's okay, because a certain other character who's been helping you from the start is also a sorceress. I'll never say who... IP: Logged |

Welcome Elohim I'm still playing FFX. Oh boy. See, I've clocked in about 70+ assorted spare hours playing this game so far, and it seems I'm not close to being done. I thought I was near the end of the game. I was wrong! You got a while to go Spiritua IP: Logged |

Ooh, that reminds me Gooberlily, did you know Tidus gains affinity with the characters depending on how nice he is to them? Also, it depends on who you talk to first, and you who heal in battle. So far, I believe my highest affinity is with Lulu(of course), it also means she'll be the one to toss the ball to Tidus during his last overdrive move. Speaking of affinity, you get extra scenes with those characters, my cousin has already seen a bit more about Lulu's past in my game, that wasn't in his. Later IP: Logged |

Really Nep?! Oh wow, I had no idea! I got Tidus' last overdrive mode, and Lulu throws him the ball, so I guess he's nice to her or something I'm still playing the game when I have time, just trying to beef up my characters at this point. I stand around in the Omega ruins, they give mad XP there for beating the creatures. I just stand by the save point and circle a little bit until I get confronted, then after I beat the monster, I save again... One thing I'm really mad about. When I was in the Aeon temples I only got the chance to use one destruction sphere, in Shiva's temple. Apparently you need to use them all to get the last two secret Aeons, Anima and the Magus Sisters. I'm at the point now after I have the airship, and I can't go back to any of the temples. If you're still early enough in the game and want the secret Aeons...get to those temples and use the destruction spheres! I got pretty much everyone's final weapons except Wakka (I don't like playing blitzball enough to get it). Thanks so much for the info Nep! IP: Logged |

Hey no problemo Goob. I'm only seven hours into the game(alas, i don't own a PS2!!), but it's really sweet. I got like two extra scenes with Lulu so far in Guadosalam. Did you ever find out about her and Chappu? I felt sorry for her. . . I can't STAND blitzball. It's too confusing and I can't be bothered either to get Wakka's stuff. Did you win Wakka's last blitzball tournament? I tried REALLY hard but still lost, i felt bad for the team!(i still think it was their fault, Besaid has a stinker team IMHO) Here's a good site if ever you need more help: www.gamefaqs.com See ya! Thanks for the warning Nep I'm pretty terrified of that big hulking whale thing called "Sin", so I think I'll keep my distance until I cover nearly every ability on the ability chart I was contemplating today whether I should try and go after him, because I really have nothing left to do in the game. I've circled around every area a billion times and don't want to play Blitzball Poor Lulu and Chappu, I saw some of the story behind their relationship Glad you agree with me about Blitzball, I find absolutely no joy in it. I think if you are the type who likes sports games it might be a lot of fun, but for me it just confused the heck out of me. I've played only a few games, and I lost in the tournament too...and I felt bad for the team as well In Luca they have a place where you can "buy" songs from the game, or the cinemas, and replay them whenever you'd like. I didn't bother so much with the songs, though I really like the hymn, even when I don't play for a while I hear it all the time in my head. When you buy the cinemas you can see any of the CG parts that have played for you so far in the game. My favorite is Yuna's dance in the island village, during the sending. It's so pretty, I won't tell you about it in case you haven't seen it, but it's really beautiful and haunting in a way. Thanks for the link Nep, my brother Drew actually told me about that link from one of the Anime boards he's on, someone on Animegathering posted it cuz I was stuck! What point are you up to in the game? IP: Logged |

I was thinking about going there for help too, but because their FAQs cover EVERY aspect of the games, it's very tempting to look ahead and see what happens after where one is in the game. That's why I asked gooberlily instead. IP: Logged | |
