With HER powers of awesomeness, I levitate this thread up ------------------ Ask Me anything. Anything. I will contrive to bring you the answer. The whole universe will I use to do this. So be on the lookout. This book is far from My only tool. You may ask a question, then put this book down. But watch. Listen. The words to the next song you hear. The information in the next article you read. The story line of the next movie you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet. Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your ear—all these devices are Mine; all these avenues are open to Me. I will speak to you if you will listen. I will come to you if you will invite Me. I will show you then that I have always been there. All ways. ♥ IP: Logged |

I think it was at the end of Gooberz?Probably got hung up on the phallic symbolism of it's HORN. Seriously though... The unicorn is often linked to purity and virginity. Especially female virginity. Well... Add in a phallic symbol and the virgin's desire for the unicorn's "gift" of its sacred golden horn... And you get the "nightmares" of a wild untamed sexual encounter...brought on by repression of desire. Then you get the mythos of the incubi....ravishing the virgin's in their dreams. Another thing is...a virgin not so pure...and desiring more than the pure spiritual love union with the unicorn(wanting instead to fondle...pet....touch him)...was said to enrage the unicorn by her touch...and then be raped in her dreams or attacked by the unicorn. But not with his sacred "third eye" forehead horn...but instead his male sexual organ. In the legends the Virgin is warned to NEVER try to touch or touch a unicorn. Never touch his sacred golden horn or his male member. Never DESIRE to touch the unicorn. If she desires to touch him....this indicates a desire for that which would remove her innocence. And if she touches him with that desire.. She will awaken within him his beast. He will give her exactly what she desires but no longer pure himself his horn will shrivel, and he will die.(An analogy for a male and male desire and mortality} Goes back to being another analogy of Adam and Eve and serpent and loss of innocence and mortality as a curse... but it was not a curse.... instead it was simply becoming more than the animals and "understanding" by intellect..instead of instinct.. the reality of the physical aspects of living and mortality. Innocence of the not knowing of, or understanding of birth/life/death was all that was lost. Nothing more than that. But now with that knowledge...innocence is lost. Can no longer just live in an illusion of delusion that nothing ever changes...that there is no death or suffering. Without that loss of innocence..and the gaining of knowledge... we would still be animals and nothing more. Some links to Unicorn threads here at LL. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000679.html quote: Posted originally by trippysht locating a part in gooberz.... HERE! its when she's talking to the Heathcliff guru in her dream, he tells her that some of linda's worrying FEARS were dreams that were really dreams of no substance, or NIGHT MARES, seeded by the "subtle and sinister Unicorn with its phallic symbol horn of the deceptive Uni-sex"... that "singing dreams of inspiration and true prophecy borne to the Soul upon the wings of the Pegesus" (not Pegasus), "the Unicorn is a powerful force for deception in that dark world of sleep...over this twilight world, he reigns supreme and is often painted or depicted near a sleeping maiden who embraces him, in her innorcence... and ignorance for the Unicorn's midnight mission has ever been to lull... and keep ... each feminine 'I' asleep and unaware... unawakened to the glory of her true destiny and hidden powers"
I find it odd however that the Unicorn and its phallic like horn is clearly a MALE image; yet Linda refers to NIGHT MARES; a MARE is clearly a FEMALE image. quote: Posted originally by Gia It is funny how things change due to way we perceive them is it not? We make our world up with thoughts. We create daily powerful elementals that then haunt us. How sad that is.In ancient times the unicorn was very favoured indeed, especially in India, China and Mesopitonia. It was never an imaginary mythical animal, but a living, breathing physical animal that although very elusive, could be hunted. The Greeks have written quite extensively on the unicorn "The Monokeros" which when translated, means only one horn. They describe it as a splendid animal. It was as white as pure snow and had deep sapphire blue eyes. The ancients thought it was a Pagan God in goat form, a half man half beast called a Satyr. This is where it got it's demonic reputation. Most undeserved. I'm totally aware of what Linda said, however, I'm afraid I think she was wrong on this one. In ancient times the unicorn was hunted to extinction. In the dark ages, in mediveal times, knights would go off on long quests in the hope of finding one. It had a reputation of great healing and it was said both in China, Greece and throughout Asia, that a unicorn's horn is what contained it's amazing power. Did you know we had a kind of horn? One that is in the centre of our brain. Actually in the centre of the hippocampus. It is an organ we call the 'Ammons Horn?' It is a place of higher consciousness and memory. Just a snippet of information that may give some of you food for thought. The unicorn was never killed as it was prized beyond gold. It was instead imprisoned for life. This cruelty resulted in it's death after only a few years in captivity. It was said that whilst you kept this animal in your home, palace, community, good fortune followed you. People touched the unicorns tusk and were automatically healed of incurable sickness. It was thought to be a magic creature. It gave of it's energy until it was spent and then it died. It brings tears to my eyes, even now to see a mediveal tapestry dipicting unicorns surrounded by cages. These were such magnificient and intelligent animals. Look at some of the most famous English and Flemmish ancient tapestries. They are almost always dipicted as caged or imprisoned. They were gentle and kind. They had intellect and great consciousness, that I guess I would liken to the dolphin. I am heartbroken that people think the unicorn is evil. We are often the evil ones. We take something good and twist it until we make it bad. Perhaps it is fitting to our karma that we now fear them. Perhaps they stimulate a memory of some kind in us. The word 'nightmare' comes from the Anglo Saxon definition of nicht- which means night and mara - which means sea iccubus. What was that I said about the dolphin? Nightmares, bridges of the conscious and the unconscious, the Ammon horn? Hmmmmm. I think we should all meditate on that one for a bit. Revelation 19.11 "And I saw the heaven opened, and behold a white horse and he that sat on him was called faithful and true."

Thanks Lexx That story is eery. This has probably already been thought of before, but maybe the female losing her virginity from the unicorn represents the unicorn giving her knowledge and making her lose her innocence? "Knock and it shall be opened"? IP: Logged |
