Welcome Knowflake! This thread has been started for those of you who are perhaps just slowly opening the doors of Lindaland, tip-toe-ing quietly in this forum and asking yourself …what are LEXIGRAMS? How are they “born”? Can I LEXI? What do I need to LEXI? Are there rules to lexigramming?… Nothing we say here can ever better the explanation given in an amazing book by Linda Goodman: Star Signs (fortunately available everywhere , “used” star signs paperback are sold on amazon.co.uk for about 70pence/50 us cents) I have long ago given up finding words to appropriately express the marvel one feels while reading it + explanations of lexigrams in that book are given with a very proper esoteric-surrounding of chapters before & after. In brief… Each word/name/phrase is made of certain letters. i.e. the word COINCIDENTAL contains these letters: LTNNDCCOIIEA. Certain NEW (OLD?) words/phrases/names can be created with the use of those, available letters. The new words/phrases that are created with the available letters are… LEXIGRAMS! However, there are certain (strict) rules with regard to how lexis are “born”. RULE 1 You can create as many words as you like. Linda’s average was 20-30 words per lexigram. You can use the same letter in DIFFERENT words of your lexi, but not twice in the same word – unless there are two of a same letter available. I.e. out of LTNNDCCOIIEA - you may create: I CANNOT NAIL or I CLONED A CAT ( for want of a better lexi?) - but you may not create I AM AN ALIEN (no M!) or I ADD (only one D may be used per word!) RULE 2 The word/name/phrase you wish to lexi should not contain all five vowels, A-E-I-O-U. Ideally, it will only contain three of them. Also, the total number of letters should not exceed 15 – this is when you add vowels to the consonants. It is permissable for the phrase to contain as many “copies” of one letter. I.e. if the original name/phrase/word has less than 15 different and separate letters of the alphabet, it doesn’t make a difference whether it has 3 or 33 Os, or if it has 5 or 15 Bs. RULE 3 Lexigrams (the new words you form) need studying, they need pondering, they need interpreting… please remember to complete your final lexi IN CAPITALS. I.e. COINCIDENTAL lexies into NOT AN ACCIDENT. Lexigramming takes practise… it can also take considerable time, most of it for tuning in to your inner-s-elf, waking your Higher Self up… and soon you shall witness little word druids by your side… opening up amazing new worlds… I would like to hope this is the essence… Hopeful, LTD, the panel and the Knowflakes will assist me with their helpful advice and hints… also, any questions are very welcome… Finally… happy lexigramming everyone!

Miracle - you did a wonderful job of laying out the "rules." I love watching others try their hands with lexigrams and explore the world of the druids. I find my druids talking to me at the strangest times, and sometimes when I would prefer to be doing something else! However, if they simply won't stop chattering, then I know I need to work on the lexi.I know people have different techniques they use for doing the lexi's, but I like to write as many words as I can in lower case letters. Sometimes, I then need to let the words sit. However, often times a phrase will jump out at me and then the lexi spirals from there - in all caps - as Miracle said. So yes, HAPPY LEXIGRAMMING! Thank you ever so much Hopeful, for starting a tremendeus thought - sharing personal lexi experiences! It's so interesting.... I usually first pick out the single words & then let them sit too! (I picture the druids taking the words to the bakery to be baked!)... after a while, I just start noticing connections between them, as if they're being pulled together.... to form little thoughts or phrases... Amazing! Simply amazing! IP: Logged |

Quick work Miracle! Now for the count. Each LETTER is an Alphabetical Symbol. Each COPY is a REPEAT or Replica of that Symbol. Our alphabet contains 26 letter / symbols. Any word or sentence to be Lexigrammed can contain a maximum total of 15 Symbols. It can not exceed 4 vowel Symbols in that total. Any letter used in the original word, phrase, name or sentence to be Lexigrammed may have unlimited repeats, but is counted as one symbol. However, within any one LEXIGRAM WORD the repeat of a symbol is limited only to the total number of times it is used in the original (word, phrase, name or sentence). You can make as many Words as you like though. Examples: abracadabra = aaaaa bb c d rr ... = 5 symbols or letters including 1 vowel. M OO N L I G H T ... = 8 letters incl. 2 vowels. aaaa nnnn u dd eee rr ss t b l w ... = 11 alphabetical symbols incl. 3 vowels = AN UNDERSTANDABLE ANSWER? From these three words: e.g. WEEDED (allowed) sweetened (not allowed) AREAS (allowed) arrears (not allowed)

Dear readers,Has anyone tried Not to Lexi Linda's writings? I find it impossible. Star Signs for example, is chock-full of "Lexi-able" words and I think that her mastery of the language in this way makes her books so profound yet with an easiness of style that makes her appear the artist of simplification, yet she can still hold so many secrets in plain sight! Now I wouldn't call it a technique as such, but more of a way of life for me as far as Lexigramming goes! I write everything down in lower case longhand, recording the details as the druids are relaying their messages through me onto the page. I simply am not fast enough on a keyboard to keep up with them, especially if they are coming at me from all directions. I also find I have a more personal awareness of them in doing it this way, as I see them in my mind's eye both serious and humorous too, & delighting me often with their antics. I am also aware of the 'heads & tails' of letters as well this way, though when I am finished I find I have automatically written important words in CAPitalS anyway as I have gone along. Now if I am reading an interesting book, (they stop me maybe a dozen times a page to point out a word,) then I have to delve in and Lexi it which will either explain its deeper meaning or that of the context. It is an amazing journey. The same if I go into my dictionary (Oxford of course) for just ONE word, the round trip comes up with many unexpected connections because I never know where I'll end up, and I often have to think on what the original word was! I admit they constantly accompany me which is why my 'story-telling' druids often get full rein to spiral, but if I exert mastery over them on anything, it is that they may not use letters that are not there, though they have their own methods of adding one if it is important. Whereas Hopeful allows hers to do so, my stance is tougher concerning the rules and has been all through the years I have been Lexigramming. But anyway.... So now over to U Hopeful to explain the phonetic uses U employ so well. in Love and Light imajre IP: Logged |

Okay, I'm new here but not new to Linda's book "Star Signs", which has been sitting on my shelf for years now. Here are a few lexigrams I did years ago. Does anyone care to add to them? ASTROLOGY = STAR TOOL KNOWLEDGE = KNOW GOD ORGAN TRANSPLANT = TO GRANT A PART TO GO ON DOLPHIN SECRET = PHONE LINE TO LORD, HONEST CLASSICAL MUSIC = CALMS US DESIRE TO KNOW = STIR WONDER, SEEK NOW TRIANGLE = GREAT GIANT ANGEL NEAR IN AIR MEDICAL SCIENCE = MEDICINE IS IDEAL AID CRYSTAL PYRAMID = STAR MAP, ATLAS AT CRYPT I'm not sure if I broke any lexigramming rules in any of these but I'd sure like to see what other lexigrams can be found in these words. Thanks.

Elfilosophy,Welcome!!! What a treat your lexis are! I very much enjoyed reading them - you broke no rules whatsoever - and I actually think there's not too much to add, I prefer them as they are. Crystal clear. Keep it up, girl! IP: Logged |

Oh elfilosophy....spiralling reminders were stirred of way back then too! We could do with a lot more of these as 'memories are made of this'. So a BIG welcome. I know the newer knowflakes will love to see more, and ditto from me! IP: Logged |

You can Lexi 2 names together as long as they don't exceed 15 letters in total or have all 5 vowels.Trying to Lexi two names together doesn't really flow well for me and I try not to do it. Everyone is different though! I did a Lexi with one lady and it just seemed like a riddle to me but she took it as a message from her son who passed away. I had come up with the name of a song he used to sing all the time and a few other words he used to say. I was amazed yet overjoyed and this happens every now and then. Other times I think there are messages for peoples future that they aren't aware of yet, so it is just a riddle to them too! IP: Logged |
