The "shrew" as it were, countered three offers (ours being one), then during the counter, after we had agreed to it, not only had she accepted and considered ADDITIONAL offers (which your not supposed to do) BUT she ALSO countered those additional offers, thereby making the other offers fall out of contract AND forcing the rest of us who DID make offers in good faith, wait. These multiple offers aren't being made because the house rocks, they're being made because the housing market is so tight, there are so few homes in this entry-level price range.

I wanted to withdraw our offer on principle (which we were within our legal rights to do), but hubby talked me out of it (because inventory IS so slim). I s'pose we have nothing to lose by having our offer hang out there another day or two.

But I really do hope the Lexi pans out, we do get the house, and this entire process ends. What a pain in the @ss it's proved to be...

I don't know if it helps at all, however when recently moving several things happened and I do understand about a tight market, a little research and a willingness to move a little farther than planned and we started to find more options in our entry level price range, [down side I now have an hour commute to work, upside I am in a house I can be happy at, instead of waiting until I can build enough equity to move]

But we went through the same thing, there were several houses we put bids on, one was a situation like yours, where the owners played those kind of games, we choose when the option came to not go for that house.

Now we are in a place that I think we both settled for, considering things, however I do feel it is the best place for us.

Question when you did the address did you just use the name of the street?

Or did you include the letters for Ave, Avenue, St. Street, Trl. Trail, or whatever they may have been?

Also it couldn't hurt to run the numbers.

In my case there was a house that my sweetie wanted, but I didn't feel comfortable with, we made the choice wait, and trust we would be guided to the right place,

Sooo... how do you feel? instinctively about the place? keep trying for it or not?

I actually didn't use the street part, just the West that preceeded it and the actual street name.

BUT...since you did so well at this last time, could I be so presumptive as to request you do another one...you see..

We actually DID get a house, a different one, I just found out today! It's not really what I want, but interest rates are about to go up, the market is absolute crap, and I want to be in before peak buying season starts (more inventory, but more buyers to bid against too)...so it will do, I 'spose you gotta start somewhere.

So, with that, would you mind giving this new street another go for me please? Or anyone else for that matter

The street numbers are: 165 (I know very little about numerology)

The letters: a d e e h h i n o r r t v w (that includes the "drive" part of the address)

Good luck with the new house I understand about getting something that you are not as happy with due to those factors you mentioned I did the same and it turned out WONDERFULLY.

The numbers can be done two ways just using the number and also the numbers using the letters as well. Both will factor in.
