When changing your name, how useful is it to lexigram your birth name and compare it to the name you want to change it to?

I'm asking because I lexi'd my boyfriend's name, which is legally changed, and I got SO MANY words that describe things in his life from after the point he changed his name. Similarly, I've wanted to change my name for years now and for the past year I've settled on what I want - I've been sitting on it to be sure that I'm certain of it before I do anything.

Now, with my own before and after lexi's, I've found that the type of words I can create are very different. In my birth name, I found words that remind me of my Scorpio moon - words that remind me of sex (not in a tacky way but more 'Scorpio'-like), the subconscious, and even secrets. I feel very comfortable with most of the words I can get from my birth name.

But in my 'new' name, suddenly many of the lexigrams are more airy and spiritual. It's not that I don't like the connotations (oh but I did get "hell"... yikes), but in a way I'm not sure if the words 'click' with me in the same way as the words in my real name do. Would this cause any problems if I go ahead with my name change? Or is this a change that I'm preparing to be 'spiritually ready' for?

Just some wonderings.

You should compare them for sure.
My birth name is fine. My married name now is fantastic! But my 1st. and 2nd. married names were horrible. I work with a business that does name changes etcetera.
One lady wanted to have her name be phonetically the same sounding, but to have different words when lexigrammed than her current name. By changing the "K" to a "C" and Raya to Rhea her entire Lexigram changed radically.
Another guy wanted math to be in his name. He is an accountant. I told him, but your nickname has the "H" you need. Wow he said it does! So he was happy and did not change his name, and added the nick to his business cards.

Hey Fayte, what about nicknames? I've been called by my nickname since I was given my birth name. Does it affect anything?

Yes!
If you use your nickname most of the time I feel that ideally you shoud add it to your complete name when lexigramming.
Like I said above:
Quote:
"Another guy wanted math to be in his name. He is an accountant. I told him, but your nickname has the "H" you need. Wow he said it does! So he was happy and did not change his name, and added the nick to his business cards."

Like a fellow named James but called Jim or Jimmy. As you can see by adding his nicname or shortened name he would aquire an "i" or a
"y". He could simply add ONLY those extra letters not found in James. Or add the entire nickname. He would then get AEIJJMMS by adding for example James/Jim. Or he could just add the I from Jim that is not found in James. AEIJMS. It is a personal choice on that issue. Now with real nicknames unrelated to real names, I would Always add the entire nick, but again it is a personal choice.
Your birth name was not your choice but it can reveal the basic you. Names added to your birth name or name changes later can show who you have become. So yeah, Nicknames matter. Often they are names given to you. They can refect how others percieve you.
Doing a name with just the nick and last name tells a different story too.
Like a guy named for example, Richard James Wilson. He is a Doctor.
Do you do his name that way or as, Dick Wilson? Or Doc Wilson? Or Jim Wilson? The variations are many.
Sorry to make it sound so complex but it can be. But Richard might want to change his name. If it creeps him out that dead is in his name. But most people are not that concerned. He has heals in his name. Being a doctor that is cool! He also has....And his hands can heal men and children. Now if he adds Doctor to his name he can get that "T" and negate the dead to not dead! He has in his original name such things as...he heals men. And he heals children. If he adds Jimmy he can get a "Y" and get..he heals many men and children.
If I made any errors in my examples forgive me. It's late!
Later folks!

No I haven't read Star Signs yet, and someone else has got it from the library so I can't get it until they return it! Hopefully soon though.

I was thinking about also looking into the numerical values based on the Hebrew alphabet - anyone know much about that topic? One of the names I want to add to mine is Hebrew and it has a specific meaning that I want to bring into my life. I'll look into the numerology as well, now that you mention it - thanks!

I can't wait to read it either! I haven't seen it in any shops - and seeing as my mother always used to buy me Linda Goodman and other astrology books for my birthdays and Christmas, the only reason I can think of that she never got me this one is that it just wasn't in the shops...
