OK, I know I said I couldn't do this challenge until later. But something sparked an idea Friday night. The words started pouring into my head, and I knew I'd never get to sleep until I put them on paper. This isn't nearly as esoteric as those by Unmoved and goatgirl, but it comes from the heart! So I lay my humble contribution before you. I want to apologize in advance for using "a bundle of neural fibers" in place of "nerve." But alas! Nerve has two E's. What's a girl to do? Also, when I typed this up for myself, I had it centered on the page. But it didn't cut and paste that way here. Anyone know if that's possible on posts? ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ READ=DEAR WORDS, NUMBERS AND READING ARE SO DEAR TO ME. NOTE=TONE MUSICAL NOTES CAN RING TONES OF SUCH BEAUTY, THEY CAN MOVE ME TO TEARS. WHY ARE WORDS AND NUMBERS AND NOTES ALIKE? THEY EACH VIBRATE AT THEIR OWN RATE. EACH CAN STAND ALONE. BUT WHEN THEY JOIN TO WORK AND PLAY, MIRACLES COME ABOUT. LET US SAY EACH PERSON IS A NUMBER. EACH CAN STAND ALONE. EACH IS OF EQUAL IMPORTANCE. IF ONE NUMBER GETS LOST, MATH AS A WHOLE IS LOST. IF ONE SOUL GETS LOST, HUMANITY AS A WHOLE IS LOST. THE SAME CAN BE SAID OF MUSICAL NOTES. IF ONE NOTE OF THE SCALE IN ANY OCTAVE GOT LOST, HOW MANY A MELODY COULD LIVE ON? EACH WORD IS ALSO VITAL. AS I WRITE THIS LEXIGRAM, I LEARN HOW TOUGH IT IS TO PUT IDEAS INTO WORDS WHEN I AM UNABLE TO USE EACH WORD AS IT COMES TO MIND. THE FLOW OF IDEAS GETS JERKY. CHI GETS BLOCKED. THIS BRINGS SOMETHING TO MIND. THINK OF THE BRAIN TRYING TO SEND A SIGNAL TO ANOTHER BODY PART. BUT A BUNDLE OF NEURAL FIBERS IS PINCHED. THE SIGNAL IS UNABLE TO GO FORTH. IT MUST FIND A NEW PATH. THIS CAN BE PAINFUL AND TAKE MUCH TIME IF ANOTHER PATH IS NOT EASILY LOCATED. AS EACH NUMBER (OR NOTE OR WORD) MAKES A STAND ALONE, WHAT CAN IT DO? NOT MUCH. STAND UP. BE PROUD. VIBRATE. HUM A TUNE. YAWN. YET WHEN TWO OR MORE NUMBERS JOIN FORCES, THEY CAN DANCE AND SING! THEY CAN BEAT A DRUM! THEY CAN FIND A SUM. THEY CAN TAKE FROM. THEY CAN GO INTO. THEY CAN BE PRODUCTIVE AND EXPAND. THEY CAN COUNT, CIPHER, COMPUTE. THEY CAN GIVE US A STORY ABOUT WHO WE ARE IF WE STUDY OUR DATE OF BIRTH. I CAN VIEW NO END TO WHAT THEY CAN DO! IS IT NOT THE SAME FOR HUMANS? WHAT WE CAN DO ALONE DOES NOT HOLD A CANDLE TO WHAT WE CAN DO WHEN WE HOLD HANDS AND JOIN FORCES. MIRACLES ABOUND. HEARTS ARE LIGHT AND BEAT STRONG. EACH SMILE JOINS IN TO SHINE BRIGHTLY AND CAUSE SHADOW TO VANISH. EACH LOST NUMBER NOTE/TONE WORD SOUL MUST BE FOUND! RELAX. FORGIVE. LOVE IT/HIM/HER HOME. OPEN YOUR ARMS/HEART/MIND. BRING THE PRODIGAL BACK. HAVE A FESTIVAL! PARTY DOWN! THUS CAN WE ONCE MORE BE ONE. THANK YOU, SOURCE.
(AND MAY I JUST SAY: THANK YOU ROGET!)

Skyhawk! That's great, and I love it!!! I don't have a hand clapping smilie or else I'd put one in. THis is a wonderful Lexigram, you should be proud of this I know what you mean when you want to say something and the words are not there, it just makes you be more creative Peace, GG ------------------ The good life, as I conceive it, is a happy life. Skyhawk! 0% ERRORS! quote: I want to apologize in advance for using "a bundle of neural fibers" in place of "nerve."
Why are you apologizing? THAT IS THE NATURE OF THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!! You found a substitute for the word NERVE! EXCELLENT! Hee Hee...even this line is allowed! (AND MAY I JUST SAY: THANK YOU ROGET!) So the name for your Lexigram? No repeat letters in each word remember! For your line here and for others needing a substitude for NERVE. quote: BUT A BUNDLE OF NEURAL FIBERS IS PINCHED.
Some other substitutions for the word "NERVE" ARE: Noun 1/ NERVUS/nervus - any bundle of nerve fibers running to various organs and tissues of the body
NERVUS SPUNK BOLD BRAZEN BOLD BOLD FACE BOLD FACED BRASH BRASHLY BOLD BRACE BRACED POISE And for related words to: NERVOUS NERVOUSLY FLIGHTY STRUNG STRUNG OUT AROUSED ANXIOUS ANXIOUSLY JUMPY A MIND STORM Archaic: STRONG SINEWY Somewhat related: FRANTIC MANIC CRAZY CRAZED UNEASY And more spiraling off widely from all that: NERVOUS STRAIN MENTAL STRAIN BREAKING POINT RACK RACKED WRACK WRACKED SCALDING SINGED BURNED BURNT FRENZY WILD PAIN PAINS PAINED BRUISE BRUISED BTW..loved this:

Do this if you add letters please! For example you add an "S" you do not have....... THI(s) or an "O" T(o), Or any letters not found within your "source". Add all you want if that is your way but Please do not "HIDE" your added letters. Sadly I have also seen even the many so called "word masters/smiths/professionals" out on the web making many errors or hiding their errors! Shame on them! If letters that are not found within the "source" word, name, date, etcetera; are added to a Lexigram, or letters deleted which are found within the "source"... The resulting creation becomes a Lexigram "based" reading; NOT a true Lexigram or a Pure-Lexigram© Taking or finding Anagrams and stringing them together is a form of simple Lexigramming, only in that All Anagrams are also Lexigrams. However All Lexigrams are NOT Anagrams. True Lexigramming does not use Anagramming as their base. ------------------ "Heaven doesn't want me and Hell is afraid I'll take over and start a rehab for the damned!" ~Judgement Must Be Balanced With Compassion~ ~Do Not Seek Wealth From The Suffering, Or The Dire Needs Of Others~ ~Assumption Is The Bane Of Understanding~ ~ if you keep doing what you did, you'll keep getting what you got.~ Everything changes. Hi there Skyhawk. I am sorry to reply so late. I have not been here on LM in ages. Yes, English is my second language, Zulu being my mother tongue. I learnt English when I was 10 or so when the apartheid system was crumbling allowing black kids to mix with white kids, the "white" schools had the higher standard of education. My mother thought it would be good for me if I left the Bantu Education system and joined a more co-racial school. She was right of course, although as you can imagine, it was not easy in those days. But that's all in the past, and I found that English was so easy for me to grasp (and I know that fayte.m might speculate that I probably spoke it in a former life because I learned it in a few months coming first in my class in my first year there.) I speak about it only because I am terribly proud about the entire thing. And with Fayte.m's guidance and inspiration, that is how I managed to do that lexigram from a subject I am naturally interested in. Thank you for taking notice. It is much appreciated... and with fayte.m's guidance, you will be getting profound answers in no time, just because she is very encouraging and supportive, and does not make you feel stupid for floundering and such. Enjoy. IP: Logged |

Wonderful news, Dear Friends! Hubby's surgery was completely successful. He still has a lot of healing to do. But all his cancer was contained in the prostate, and now it's gone. They didn't need to remove any lymph nodes. Minimal nerve (bundle of neural fibers!)damage if any. And minimal bleeding. They didn't even need the extra units of blood he'd given for stand-by. I told the surgeon we planned it that way. We requested a date during the waning moon. He grinned and rolled his eyes. So now we're back home. I'm trying to catch up on laundry, snail mail, e-mail and lindaland! Thank you so much for all your kind words about my lexigram, goatgirl! I appreciate your encouragement. It was fun. Thank you for the fireworks, fayte.m. I worked very hard to find all my errors before I posted. You keep us on our toes, indeed! And thanks for understanding my Roget humor. The rhyme would be obvious when spoken. But not everyone knows how to pronounce the name! My apology for the nerve substitute was actually an attempt at humor. My husband loved it, so I kept it. We both decided that anyone else doing the challenge would understand the "weirdness!" I think I might do a lexi for my annual family newsletter if the right phrase inspires me. Or maybe I could do the whole letter within the framework of a lexi if the phrase had enough letters! Hmmmmm. Creative juices flowing........ Unmoved, thank you for sharing your story about learning English! You do indeed have a gift for languages to have learned it so quickly and easily. Maybe you remain "Unmoved!" But I am "very moved" by your ABC lexi! Love to All! IP: Logged |

Lei_Kuei The rules are simple! But it is still harder than it looks! I had like 20+ errors at first! For this game... Never use any letter twice in any one word. You may use the entire alphabet though!Just remember, you have only 26 different letters no duplicates or triples or whatever! ------------------ "Still out looking for Schrödinger's cat........."
