Hello changchiu Is this your full name? I must warn you, there will not be very many English words, but I shall try. Are you male or female? I have some limited, but workable experience working on Lexigramming Turkish names. I have quite a few requests...several dozen in fact, but shall add your name to my list if you do not mind being patient with me. As to your letter "ı" being equivalent to "i", I shall explain how I apply such when Lexigramming. However firstly, I wish to know how your name is pronounced.neval..... is the "e" lone, such as in "see" or short as in "eh" Is the "a" long as in "say" or short as in "father", "awe", or "ah" or short as in "what" or short as in "apple" yılmaz.... Same questions about the "a" in this name also. The letter "ı" is as in "eye" or "high", or "fly"? The first letter, the "Y", is as in "young"? ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... Learning is eternal. }><}}(*> .☆¨¯`♥ ¸.☆¨¯`♥ ¸.☆¨¯`♥ IP: Logged |

OK... have I got it right?neval yılmaz is pronounced as: Nehvall Yeyellmuz ? Generally in such situations as non Latin letters, or diacritics and so forth.... when Lexigramming I leave it up to the person to choose the transliteration spelling needed to Lexigram in English. If I were Lexigramming phonetically, the process would be different, and much more complex. That is "sound" or "vibrational" Lexigramming which is a very complex and ponderous undertaking. I do them but most folks are content with basic Alphabetical Lexigramming. In your case, I would look at your name two ways. neval yılmaz sequenced to these letters: AA E LL M N V YY And with "ı" replaced by "i". AA E I LL M N V Y If I were hunting for Turkish words, I would leave the ı in. Sigh....wish I knew Turkish. I shall try to return in a few hours with more! ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student... Learning is eternal. }><}}(*> .☆¨¯`♥ ¸.☆¨¯`♥ ¸.☆¨¯`♥ IP: Logged |

Ok I'll try and help a bit more. Her name is pronounced.. Ne va l yill muz both words are soft words. And the y she did in english is just a normal "i"
It comes up differently because our keyboards dont recognise it. One of the letter "i"'s in the turkish alphabet doesn't have a dot on top of it. It's pronounced iugh instead of ee. "iugh" is like when you say ewwww but without saying the W on the end. IP: Logged |

I was trying to ascertain whether "i" was as in idea or Hawaii, or a short "i" sound like in tin. LOL! I see it is not any of those either! Ewwww is more of a short e blended with a short u. Thanks changchiu & belgz! And thank you for posting your name etymology and meaning too! ------------------ Everyone is a teacher... Everyone is a student...
