Fate is Feat, and Feat is Fate.It should have been in Lexigrams, but I thought it is more appropriate here. ------------------ You are endless galaxies, you have seen but one star - Linda Goodman, Sun Signs IP: Logged |

feat1 (ft) n. A notable act or deed, especially an act of courage; an exploit. An act of skill, endurance, imagination, or strength; an achievement. fate (ft) n. The supposed force, principle, or power that predetermines events. The inevitable events predestined by this force. A final result or consequence; an outcome. Unfavorable destiny; doom. Fates Greek & Roman Mythology. The three goddesses, Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos, who control human destiny. Used with 'the' Hmmm Raj... This is interesting ! This makes me think that the definition, "Unfavorable destiny; doom." for the word *fate* is another on of those convoluted meanings to a word. If a *feat* is a *good* thing, then it seems so too should be *fate* - Like, if we are successful in meeting our chosen or agreed to *destiny* in any lifetime, our *fate*, then we have accomplished a *feat* - a good thing ? ~Princess

I do believe in Fate & Destiny ~ I just do ~ it's innate, inside of me " Your Soul knows the Geography of your Destiny. Your Soul alone has the Map of your Future, therefore, you can trust this indirect, oblique side of YourSelf. If you do, it will take you where you need to go, but more important, it will teach you a kindness of rhythm in your journey." ~from Anam Cara, A Book of Celtic Wisdom IP: Logged |

Nephy~ I love that book I'm so glad you told me about it and, I agree ... everyone has a destiny If *fate* does exist, I think we write it ourselves, not some etherial force - it would be those things that balance out our own bad karma. The etherial force might insure we meet that *fate* but WE wrote it by our own actions and or misdeeds. I've always struggled with believing bad things are written in stone It just doesn't *feel* right to me. ~Princess ------------------ ~We can try many ways to get rid of the darkness, but none is as effective as simply increasing the light.~ UnkNown IP: Logged |

I think the Lexigram means we are 'fated' to perform a feat. Unfortunately, we are also given the 'choice' of not to perform it. Yet we also keep believing (thanks to Mass Negative Programming) that fate's sole purpose is to make us suffer. Often Nobody refers to Fate, when he succeeds. But when he fails, he invariably blames it on his poor luck ie fate. Right from my childhood, I have always believed everyone has a unique mission in his life, and he will always get whatever he needs to fulfill the mission - I always thought fate must be positive - Thank God, I didn't succumb to Negative Programming.------------------ You are endless galaxies, you have seen but one star - Linda Goodman, Sun Signs IP: Logged |

Perhaps if we changed out attitude towards FATE...FATE would change 'Her' attitude towards us.What would happend if we actually tried to work with FATE instead of trying to run in the opposite direction? If we quit being scared! ------------------

I forgot to come back to this thread! I believe that we chose our lessons before incarnation; including our difficult or hard lessons. So, Princess, when you said "bad things written in stone".......well, we chose the difficult bad experiences, to learn and grow from them. We might not always understand why we have to go through such difficult things, or why people suffer, but each Soul *chooses* his/her life path and the experiences. I believe this as sure as I am that my cat Yoda is black! But yes, we always have Free Will. At the same time, our Soul, Our Intuition, Our Higher S-elf, "guides" us.........to the place we intended to take in this particular incarnation in the Universe. Yivy, my response to your statement, is what's wrong with having a positive attitude? If only people would start each day fresh and new; there is so much beauty out there, if only we *try* to see and SMILE

Nephy~ I believe one can balance some karmic debts without having to go thru the difficulties, heartbreak or hardship of it. I think thru enLightenment we can recognize, or reMember on a Soul level, what our karmic lessons are before we begin the *drama* - then with *looking in the mirror* and seeing what was once in us, even grieving and feeling the due remorse, comes understanding, and the will and ability to love and forgive *first* - before the drama begins ... I could be wrong, but from what I understand, Jesus agrees with me ~Princess ------------------ "War is not healthy for children and other living things." ~unknown IP: Logged |

Nephy...that's right, Yoda is a black kitty. I love black kitties.. they always seem to have the most intense green eyes.Oh, I meant not to think of fate as evil, but as a good thing. What if fates wants you to have a wonderful life. If you run from it, then you can't receive the gift. What if you are 'fated' to live forever??? I don't think of fate as something written in concrete. I think we should learn to work hand-in-hand with fate. Exercising free will, but not over looking any good possibilities. Sorry, was that more confusing ------------------

Ok, I'll try to remember. Remind me in about 40 years before I cross over. I am a clean and neat freak so I am good at dusting. I'll also make sure only good positive Souls/Ghosts hang out there (if that's what you meant). IP: Logged |

YIPPEE!!! Nephy, you're hired! And great idea about the animals, VR. They won't mind as long as they get their dinner. And Nephy, being a ghost you can watch them while I'm on a vacation, plus scare the burglers away. Then 'flit' to where I am and back. Not that I'm rushing you or anything, but.......... ------------------

Soma~ Agreed... just like we have control over our FEATS. But like Randall said, with our Free Will, we can certainly prolong the process of reaching our Soul-goal with those tinker toys I don't think anyone should fear their FATE ... only the messes we make along the way to it ------------------ "War is not healthy for children and other living things." ~unknown IP: Logged |
