Please read beginning with page one of this thread.💖😎 Also please remember that the long teverse Lexigram Was created totally from this phrase!😎 quote: Vexed Oenone cries of stolen joy, by knowing the consequences of God's bow upon her brazen, mad and dream-led Paris.

Alfred, Lord Tennyson, chief representative of the Victorian age in poetry, wrote the dramatic monologue of Oenone in 1829. This passionate poem sung by the Naiad nymph, Oenone, of Mount Ida in Troad, is about her happy marriage with Paris, until he abandons her when goddess Aphrodite tempts him with the love of the fairest woman and Paris decides to leave Oenone for the love of Helen. Paris must abandon Oenone, as Troy is already on the verge of destruction for Helen. This is the first attempt by Tennyson to treat classical myths and his work is based on Ovid's Heroides V and of course on Lycophron's cryptic poem Alexandra. Its definition in the Suda, the massive Byzantine encyclopedic dictionary of the 10th century, as the dark poem has become proverbial. Lycophron's iambic poem of 1,474 verses has made scholars struggle to decode Alexandra's riddling discourse portrayed through the prophetic words of the Trojan princess, Cassandra. As for Alexandra's historical background, this unfolds an immense part of history from the archaic to the late Hellenistic era. Alexandra is impossible to be read without a paraphrase and a commentary on the side. The following excrept from Alexandra talks about Oenone when she learns that Paris has been wounded by Philoctetes with one of Hercules' arrows and though she is the only one who can save him, she refuses to do so. Paris dies and Oenone is filled with guilt that will eventually lead her to kill herself. "Alas! hapless nurse of mine burnt even aforetime by the warlike pineships of the lion that was begotten in three evenings, whom of old Triton's hound of jagged teeth devoured with his jaws. But he, a living carver of the monster's liver, seething in steam of cauldron on a flameless hearth, shed to ground the bristles of his head; he the slayer of his children, the destroyer of my fatherland; who smote his second mother invulnerable with grievous shaft upon the breast; who, too, in the midst of the race-course seized in his arms the body of his wrestler sire beside the steep hill of Cronus, where is the horse-affighting tomb of earth-born Ischenus; who also slew the fierce hound that watched the narrow straits of the Ausonian sea, fishing over her cave, the bull-slaying lioness whom her father restored again to life, burning her flesh with brands: she who feared not Leptynis, goddess of the underworld. But one day with swordless guile a dead corse slew him: yea, even him who of old overcame Hades; I see thee, hapless city, fired a second time by Aeaceian hands and by such remains as the funeral fire spared to abide in Letrina of the son of Tantalus when his body was devoured by the flames, with the winged shafts of the neat-herd Teutarus; all which things the jealous spouse shall bring to light, sending her son to indicate the land, angered by her father's taunts, for her bed's sake and because of the alien bride. And herself, the skilled in drugs, seeing the baleful wound incurable of her husband wounded by the giant-slaying arrows of his adversary, shall endure to share his doom, from the topmost towers to the new slain corpse hurtling herself head foremost, and pierced by sorrow for the dead shall breathe forth her soul on the quivering body".

Eternal Energy!😎 Thank you posting all that!😎 When my husband and did the reverse Lexagramming of Alfred Lord Tennyson's epic poem, "Oenone" We had to create a phrase which was as referential as possible and as short as possible to literally result in the poem if Lexagrammed (created from the letters) from our source phrase which was: Vexed Oenone cries of stolen joy, by knowing the consequences of God's bow upon her brazen, mad and dream-led Paris. Took awhile, but was a very interesting thing to do. Quite enjoyable for us both!😎💕 ------------------ Click here to read My Lexigramming Biography: going on 2/3 of a century to date ♥ Lexigramming!🔠✍️ I shall return!😎
