That is all I can find so far on incorporation dates for Saint Paul.

Just posting this from my slow XP computer, but I have the AstroDataBank program on it. (I can't find my ADB disk to install & move my database onto my newer Windows 7. Actually, I'm not even sure ADB jives with Windows 7.)

From ADB program:

U.S. city. Population 256,213 (1999) -5.9% 1990-1999. State capital. County seat of Ramsey County.
Earliest municipal incorporation, as a city: March 4, 1854

Earliest municipal incorporation, as a city, was approved March 4, 1854 (1854 Territory of Minnesota Laws, Chapter 5, pp. 13-42). This law repealed the law incorporating the town of St. Paul (see below).

Incorporation of the town with the same name from a town plat was approved November 1, 1849, effective from and after passage (1849 Territory of Minnesota Laws, Chapter 40, pp. 99-104). This law did not grant the power to make local regulations.

I don't know what I'd do without P-P-P-Power Naps. I don't really get to sleep anymore...my little boy is in the throes of the terrible twos.

Anyways, speaking of balloons I thought you two might be interested in NASA's big balloon...

quote:

A colossal NASA balloon is poised to carry a free-hanging gondola sky-high on a mission to take a gander at celestial grandeur: Comet ISON.

Weather permitting, NASA's Balloon Rapid Response for Comet ISON (BRRISON) gondola and science instruments are to ascend from the space agency's Scientific Balloon Facility in Fort Sumner, N.M., possibly by Sunday (Sept. 29). The one-day balloon mission's target is Comet ISON, an incoming comet that some scientists have billed as a potential "comet of the century" because it could flare up to spectacular brilliance after a close flyby of the sun in late November.

Along with a 0.8-meter telescope, NASA's reusable BRRISON balloon gondola will carry infrared and near-ultraviolet/visible imaging gear, along with fine-steering mirror technology to obtain high pointing stability while observing Comet ISON.

I use power naps sparingly. I can't function long without a full night's sleep.

I envy people who can actually sleep hours! I rarely sleep more than 1 1/2 hours at a time. Always soooo tired and fall asleep throughout the day, even sitting and at times standing.

Yes, mostly that.
Oddly last night I had a nice surprise and slept almost 3 hours straight!
No idea why I went so long with minimal troubles last night;
but it was very very very nice!

OMGoodness! You will not believe where I was last Saturday night!!!!!! I can barely believe it myself.

http://www.christianpost.com/news/prince-opens-home-to -fans-purple-rain-singer-opens-paisley-for-special-concert-106056/

I was over an hour late because I'm so chronically late my family says I could find a way to be late to my own funeral, but then I thought well Prince and I are definitely on the same wavelength in regards to being a little late, so I thought I'd be okay. When I drove past, the line of people was almost two suburban blocks long and I thought I'd never get in the building.

Unable to find a close place to park, I stopped quite a ways down the road to talk to a parked cop and asked her where the limobus shuttle was. She said Lifetime Fitness. When I got to Lifetime, there didn't seem to be many cars there and I thought for sure I was so late I missed the shuttle, but I saw two other cars with their lights on...so I waited...for like 30 minutes. Then the magic bus came! So I had to take the 'short' limobus to Paisley Park...lol...it's especially funny to me because I've taken the 'short bus' to Prince's house countless times when I was a young school girl.

Anyways, there were only a few of us on the bus. One girl was wearing zebra print...and I thought. Aha! The Zebra Rule! So, being a good girl and following the coincidences, I started talking to her. She was with a girl wearing leopard print and a gentleman who managed a bar in downtown Minneapolis. When we got off the bus, the bar manager talked to the Secret Service looking guy at the gate and he said our group was on the list and waved us through the gate. I would have never got in if that didn't happen. It was like when the parking lot fairy blesses you with a good parking spot in a packed parking lot. And by the time I got there, I had to go to the bathroom sooo bad...so super-double-triple blessing!

It was incredible! Third-Eye Girl & New Power Generation with all the brass! Squeeeeeeeeeeal! I think HRH Prince made my third-eye bleed...or at least bruised it a little bit. OMGoodness!

LET'S GO CRAZY - PRINCE

Dearly beloved
We are gathered here today
2 get through this thing called life

Electric word life
It means forever and that's a mighty long time
But I'm here 2 tell u
There's something else
The afterworld

A world of never ending happiness
U can always see the sun, day or night

So when u call up that shrink in Beverly Hills
U know the one - Dr Everything'll Be Alright
Instead of asking him how much of your time is left
Ask him how much of your mind, baby

'Cuz in this life
Things are much harder than in the afterworld
In this life
You're on your own

And if de-ELEVATOR tries 2 bring u down
Go crazy - punch a higher floor

If u don't like the world you're living in
Take a look around u
At least u got friends

U see I called my old lady
4 a friendly word
She picked up the phone
Dropped it on the floor
Let me tell u what I heard

Are we gonna let de-ELEVATOR
Bring us down
Oh, no Let's Go!

Let's go crazy
Let's get NUTS
Let's look 4 the purple banana
'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!

We're all excited
But we don't know why
Maybe it's cuz
We're all gonna die

And when we do (When we do)
What's it all 4 (What's it all 4)
U better live now
Before the grim reaper come knocking on your door

Tell me, are we gonna let de-ELEVATOR bring us down
Oh, no let's go!

Let's go crazy
Let's get NUTS
Look 4 the purple banana
'Til they put us in the truck, let's go!

C'mon baby
Let's get NUTS
Yeah
Crazy

Let's go crazy

Are we gonna let de-ELEVATOR bring us down
Oh, no let's go!
Go crazy

I said let's go crazy (Go crazy)
Let's go, let's go
Go
Let's go

Dr. Everything'll be alright
Will make everything go wrong
Pills and thrills and dafodills will kill
Hang tough children

He's coming
He's coming
Coming

Take me away!

Toast. Pancake.

LOVE & LIght ,
The Synonym Girl

Speaking of the Zebra Rule, I thought Prince's post on October 16th was pretty funny...

I had promised my sister I'd take her to Prince's next party, so we went...and right after my sister and I got there, Prince's DJ started playing my profile signature song, Stayin' Alive.

(I'm thinking they know about us Knowflakes in LL. )

Go back and look at my post on the 12th. I edited my post to make the Zebra Rule part bold. (You'll probably have to refresh the page you know.)

PS. Funny Smurf eating baby! I have a really good blue icing story, but I promised I would only tell it posthumously. Did you know if you eat enough of that dark-blue colored icing you'll poo blue?
