My husband's computer died, really died. Kaput shot burned out all lost. So bear with us; he will try to do it on his tablet. Not an easy job to do the layout for a newsletter on the tiny screen. It might not be as fancy looking; but the newsletters (November and December) can be out sooner than waiting to get a new laptop. PS. Anyone have a working used laptop I could buy? IP: Logged |

Crossing toes is difficult for most folks. Well we worked on it more today and will post link even though late. After all; once archived it will not matter that they were late. People can still get to past issues.

Because it requires a computer that works; and certain publishing and so forth skills and programs; well it is a process and the time is the progress. Need a new word like progcess. IP: Logged |

Did you know it is not always easy to get new words listed in major (or any) dictionary? For example: "Lexigram" as we know it here at LL is NOT in the dictionary yet. Here is some of what is:From The Oxford Dictionary: Definition of lexigram in English: lexigram NOUN A symbol representing a word, especially one used in learning a language. Example sentences Pronunciation: lexigram/ˈlɛksɪɡram/ __________________________ And this: Yerkish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yerkish DEFINITION OF LEXIGRAM Yerkish Yerkish is an artificial language developed for use by non-human primates. It employs a keyboard whose keys contain lexigrams, symbols corresponding to objects or ideas. A lexigram represents a word but is not necessarily indicative of the object referenced by the word. Lexigrams were notably used by the Georgia State University Language Research Center to communicate with bonobos and chimpanzees. Researchers and primates were able to communicate using lexigram boards made in up to three panels with a total of 384 keys. ______________________ IP: Logged |
