My first Lexigram that I remember was the GOD/DOG one.How I learned about Lexigrams! My first Lexigrams came about when I was about 5 years old whilst sitting utterly bored in church in 1959 I was doodling on the back of the sermon program foldout. I noticed that GOD became DOG by simply rearranging the letters. I did not know it at the time, but I had at that moment discovered Anagrams for myself! Fascinated I then began "playing" with the name: "GOD". GO GOD GO! GO DOG GO! GO OG GO! I was laughing myself silly and got slapped hard for it. LOL! However in that moment of a wordy/letter eureka, I was addicted to Lexigramming! I continued looking.... JESUS....has the word US in it! Later whilst visiting my Great Grandmother; my parents told her about my "playing" with the letters found in names and words. By that time I had already Lexigrammed the names of my parents and siblings. Great Grandma was utterly thrilled!♥ ♥ ♥ She brought out of the attic old antique circa 1905 or so "ANAGRAM" game boards, and Scrabble game, and helped me take my interest in Lexigramming to a higher level. I drove teachers bonkers because in school I would be doing Lexigramming rather than paying attention in classes. Oops! LOL! Well I could not see the blackboard anyhow due to very bad eyesight. By time I was 7 years old in 1961, and a very sickly child, whom they thought would die before puberty, and with extremely poor eyesight... well I had plenty of time to Lexigram. I was dreaming them, creating them in my dreams! I usually did and still have paper and pencil, or pen nearby to jot down my Lexigrams that came and still continue to come in dreams. And a voice recorder nowadays. So is it no wonder that; ♥ ♥ ♥ LEXIGRAMMING IS MY SERIOUS PASSION! http://lexigramhistory.blogspot.com/2008/04/short-history-of-lexigramming-and.html continued next post....... IP: Logged |

I didn't even know about Star Signs, or Linda's interest in them until I acquired a computer, got internet access, and joined LindaLand in March of 2005.That's right folks! I was then a total computer newbie, who had just gotten a computer, and it was my first time on the internet also in that March of 2005! Then when some folks here saw my Lexigrams they began accusing me of using generators! Some became quite nasty about it to say the least. I was like.. "huh? What is a generator?" I'd been Lexigramming nearly 45 1/2 years to date, by that time, without having ever been on a computer; so had not and was not (yet) using a computer program to Lexigram. Even since having had several types of strokes from TIAs' and up to more serious types; including an ocular stroke; and frequent cerebral swellings from HAE; and a few concussions; plus others ills that have negatively affected; and still do continue to seriously impair; my concentration, and vision acuity, and dexterity; plus motor function and more; I still do Lexigramming etc.; by hand; the pre-computer pre-internet ways; as much as possible, by using my mind; and yes, old hard copy, real printed on paper, hard bound dictionaries and thesauri; and armed with several pairs of different strength reading glasses and a big old fashioned magnifying glass; in addition to contact lenses; and even wearing a lighted headlamp..... and then I can choose to consult a generated list to find words that are uncommon/archaic, and or not in my personal mental vocabulary. To limit my word finding options is to limit my Lexigrams from what they can become when basing their creations on only my mental vocabulary. That would be illogically an unnecessarily restrictive. Just because many words are not stored in my memory/mind; does not mean that there are not more words to be found when Lexigramming any source. By the way; I still dream about and create Lexigrams whilst sleeping , and then upon awakening;, I immediately write down phrases which came to me in dreams, on note pads always kept by my bedside. I also keep note pads in the bathroom to spontaneously write down Lexigram phrases as they come to me; and at times I use recorders also. I finally got myself a digital recorder so that when when it is dark for any reason, lights out, and or my eyes are glitching, or I am in bed due to my disabilities acting up more than usual, from moment to moment, physically unstable.; so have to adapt as much as possible; even then; I can still note the Lexigram phrases that come to me. Though there are at times; sadly; when I cannot use recorders for various reasons related to my ills. (in addition to wonky eyes, I get total black blindness episodes; but fortunately usually just partial blindness episodes from time to time; and loss of feeling in hands etc.) I have been Lexigramming and Anagramming for over 5 decades, over 1/2 a century to date. 2017 marks 58 years Lexigramming and Anagramming etc.experience so far! I learned much from my great grandparents. Many new and other ways have come to my attention since then. However the way I was taught, is the easiest and most logical, and the only error free, no cheating way I have yet encountered to date. Lexigramming is also a very ancient art, or form of divination and secret coding, going back at least a couple thousand years. Many games of Anagramming using vintage early 1900s letter tiles and boards were a part of my childhood in the 1950s and 1960s. Scrabble was a later passion as the old Anagram games wore out from frequent use. Boggle followed. My partner is as passionate as I am about the art of and yes, the science and even mystery of Lexigramming and Anagramming. He learned of them at a very young age from his grandmother, and has been doing them for over 4 decades. So betwixt us, there is over 100 or so years Lexigramming and Anagramming experience. ________________________________________ ***Update: 2019 marks about a total of about 102 years of Lexigramming experience between my husband and I. Over an entire century! I wonder if we will reach 200 years Lexigramming experience betwixt us? It is possible! _____________________________________ I have also in addition to Lexigramming; have been reading dictionaries etc., for pleasure for about 60 years to date! (as of 2019). I have more Lexigramming experiences to tell, so to be continued. Edit to add 😎 As of 2022 I have been Lexagramming/Lexagramming For over 1/2 a century And am nigh onto 2/3 of a century!😎 When I turn 71 years old. Am now 67 going on 68. So far to date the count is About 62 and 1/2 years of my Lexagramming passion!😎

Excerpts from, another thread: quote: Originally posted by Lexxigramer: I love helping folks hone their creations by replacing their errors with words and or phrases that preserve the original meanings intended as much as possible and thereby transforming their creation(s) into actual Lexigrams! I always say "error free" Lexigrams; but if the creation/Lexigramming attempt has any errors; then it is not an actual Lexigram but instead is a Lexigramming attempt. ***An actual Lexigram by virtue of being a Lexigram is automatically error free.!***
