I am always happy when I work with soil but since I moved to China I had no access to do gardening. The new place I moved in has a small allotment. It is full of wild grass and weeds and wild yam. I am still waiting for my sickle to be delivered. In one corner I started with basil and thyme, two aloes and sweet potatoes. IP: Logged |

I live in the north country but I garden year around. Out in the soil in the summer and in my home + greenhouse in winter! Currently I am growing cold crops like lettus and kale. After the first frost, we will harvest our potatos and fruits. The grapes need another month yet . ------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

Hi Randall...Would you describe what it is like in a salad bar in US? Is it all-you-can-eat style? I harvested sweet potato leaves and stir-fried them for dinner! Not bad at all!

I don`t care for kale or swiss chard. I grow it for the colors in Autumn decortions! I do eat all the lettus`s grown in fall tho!------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.

Kale reminds me of the grass on the inside of a mower.IP: Logged |

Heirloom tomatos are on my agenda this year. I`m going to grow them in bales of straw. Wild strawberries are coming on and if I can keep the dogs and birds from eating them, I will make jam! ------------------ Partial truth~the seeds of wisdom~can be found in many places...The seeds of wisdom are contained in all scriptures ever written… especially in art, music, and poetry and, above all, in Nature.
